DVD-rom problem

CPU/Ram: P4 3.2GHZ, 1GB DDR 3200

4 days ago, my pc was fine, nothing has problem. but then just yesterday, my dvd-rom just wouldnt eject. every time i press the eject botton, the light is just on, nothings happen. any one knows why?

P4 3.2GHZ
kingstone 1GB DDR 3200
ABIT AS8 mobo
Nvidia geforce 6800 128mb
Soundblaster 24-bit audigy 2
520W PSU

i have restarted the pc many times, and reset the cmos, still doesnt eject. i highly doubt it may have dropped dead.

i just checked the bios, the bios can detect the hardware, it shows combo 52x16c. if it can be deteced then the dvd rom isnt dead. it just cant eject.

I have a cdr-rw and it was not detected bad till it crunched and even now while waiting for new part in my control panel says it is working fine but you can't put a cd in it that is when I get bad block and shows nothing on the disk & I have been getting errors for a week unspecified ones one time drivers, next time memory, next time something else but nothing about hardware problems.

There is a small hole in the front of the drive. Insert (push) a straightened paperclip into the hole and that should eject the tray.
Then try it again. If it still won't work, get a new one.
