Hey, Everytime I burn data onto a DVD+R it says, Warning You are about to create a multi-session write once DVD disc. Session no. 2 and above will not be readable with some DVD-ROM drives and operating systems prior to Windows XP and then it asks, how do you want to continue?
Burn multisession anyway
Burn withoutmultisession
CancelCan someone tell me which one should I choice, and what the difference?.
Another questions, should I upgrade my DVD burner firmware?, and what exactly does a firmware upgrade does?

Multi session allows you to use a little of the media and fill it up later. This is useful if you want to store a growing collection.
As the message tells you, some dvd players cannot read multi session disks. Therefore if you burn files to a dvd which you want to give to somebody else or you want it to be available in as many as possible drives, you should not use multisession.
Also worth keeping in mind, multisession disks require overheads and can't store as much as single session discs.
Firmware is software stored in the drives read only memory. It should only be updated if you have good reason to do so. These reasons might include, removing a glitch in the original software, or more topically to add features to the drive. Such as dual layer burning or higher speed.
The downside to upgrading firmware is, if anything goes wrong, you find your drive to be useless.

Oh ok so I shouldn't use multisession since I don't want my DVD+R data disc to be limited and not work on other drives if anything it's better if it would worked on many drives as possible, thanks Rimfire.
