DVD/CD-ROM wont open!

Hello, Im having a problem sometimes that my cd-rom and dvd rom wont open. i even reboot and they still dont open...im thinking it is a power supply power but not sure....I have to literally tip over the case and wait till they open......i even take the ide cables off of each of them. And still nothing! I mean they open now in stuff but i need to know what up with it!

It sounds like the wire in the power plugs are loose, mine did that too.. If theres a disc in the drive and it don't eject, can you read the drive??

the way to manualy open is to take a paperclip straighten it and stick the end into a very tiny hole on the rom front panel
it pushes the door open manualy
realy high tech Huh
open it up and check the connections first lie response #1 says can you read the cd/dvd's

if you can read the cd's then it sounds like a mechanical problem
you may need a new one unless you don't mind opening it with the clip all the time

i have some similar problem with my cd-rw when a CD is in the drive it opens and closes fine, but when it's empty sometimes i have to press the open button 5-10+ times to open it, it sounds like it's trying to open but just can't for some reason. I have no idea why this could be, and any help to try to fix this would be appreciated :)
