My cd-rom is not being recognized. I also get a yellow-exclamation point next to the drive names under device manager. I have tried to reinstall and no change. I have also come across a fix that requires you to go into the registry and look in a file HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and delete the upper and lower filters. Has anyone tried this?

My cd-rom drive is not being recoginzed and have a yellow-exclamation point

You have not supplied enough information. Was this cd/dvd drive recognized before?
How old is it?
Have you recently changed the connections to, or the jumpers on, this drive?
