Hi. Thanks for the replys in the last post. For some reason, however, I am unable to post replys. Oh well, thats computers for ya.

Thanks to all the information, and from some I have found in research, I am looking at getting an all-in-one burner. More specificly, the Sony DVD-Burners, DRU-510AK
and the DRU510A. One question has come to mind however about these all-in-one drives. Are they reliable? For example, if the drive's ability to recored CD-RWs breaks, will the drive still work?

I hope I phrased that question ok. If not, let me know.

Thanks.

Probably not. They usually completely die.

Sony is rated as one of the better DVD burners.

The DRU510A is quite reliable, its highly unlikely that you will have too many problems with it. If for some reason one function fails , however, it is highly likely that the other functions will fail as well.

I had a sony DRU-510a and it was pony. I sent it back and now have a Plextor PX-708A which is excellent. They have a 2 year on site warranty so I wouldn't worry about reliability.
