My Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-105 can't read some of the discs it wrote. Sometimes it spins eccentrically. Please help. Thanks

If... you were burning on newer-high-speed dvd-r's you may have caused damage to it. It seems to be a common problem w/105 & 106's with no solution so far. Burn at 4x, what's the rush?
Peace.

Thanks, Stimpy.
I used to burn 1x DVDs. recently I bought a pack of 100 4x DVD-Rs ( I have burnt about 40). Some of them are doing fine. In fact I checked every one after I burnt them. They were all working well. After a week or 2, however, some of them are not properly readable. Please.

4x definetly makes deeper dots and dashes on the disks. How long will a 8x or 12x times disk last? --------------- Keeping your firmware updated is a good idea. Will allow to burn on 8x disks with older model burners. Updates burning strategies. ----------------

I have updated the firmware. In case it was damaged, can still burn at 1x? Thanks.

Set it manually. Where, depends on software, usually right before you hit that burn button.

I tried several discs at 1x. Some are readable (It took some time reading). Some aren't. It is strange that every disc was fine after burning. But a week or two later the problem occurs. Thanks.
