Hi all, have a quick question about DVD writers. I have an IO Magic DVD writer and I use NeroVision Express 2 to make DVD movies.

Today I burned two .avi files (both were divx) to a DVD+R disc, I tried to play it in my Pioneer home DVD player and the first time it loaded up fine and played great.

I took the disc out and when I put it in again it took a long time to load and the video was choppy. I tried it again after that and it will not even load anymore. The DVD player tries to load it then says No Disc.

The disc plays fine on on a PC, but what I can't figure out is why it played at first in the DVD player and now will not.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I could be wrong on this, but an electronics sales person told me that you want to buy a DVD burner that supports both +&- formats. Most DVD players require that you use the - mode when you burn a DVD for your home player. But don't know why it would have played the first time.

YOYO thanks for your reply, the DVD burner supports both +/- but I realize the discs I have only say +. What is the difference between the + or the - for the disc? It still doesn't make sense why it would work the first time I put it in.

YOYO

Thanks again! I think I have a better understanding of the +/- differences. I went out and bought some DVD-R discs today and tried it again and it works perfectly without any problems. My home DVD player is about 3 years old so I figured it might not support the DVD+R discs. All is working great now! :)
