Solved DVD Writer problem...

Specs: Windows xp sp3, dualcore/1 GB
Hi there....

I have a DVD writer which I brought from a friend of mine,
I Installed in PC and it detected in BIOS, I Boot the os and looked for DVD writer in My computer,
It showing as "DVD witer drive" ,.. then I felt happy,

Then I inserted a DVD which has my some new data, after a while, its showing like this..
'"CD Drive 0 byts"...

I Amazed that how its happemn and even i dint understand wy it happns,,,

plz can you suggest me wat can i do........

It seems that your DVD Drive can't read the disc you have inserted. Is this a portable DVD? Have you tried inserting another clean disc?

No.... its internal SONY DVD RW.

and I have checked by changing the another disc. no use. same problem...

I know the computer hardware very well, and I am working on computer hardware since from 1 year..

PLZ if possible, suggest me in technical laguage that I can make it as work fine..

Even its working fine with windows7 but not with xp sp3........

I am worried and waiting for someone to help...
