Hello post readers,

I apologise if i am posting in the wrong section, if i am please refer me to the correct place.

My problem is with my DVD burner. When i burn music on to a CD it seems to cause some unusual problems. The first problem is that when playing a music CD burned from the DVD writer it plays two songs in the place of one song. What i mean by this is that when track one is selected it plays track one BUT when track two is selected it plays track three, and in order to hear track two you need to let track one play through. (i know it sounds confusing). Other problems are things like long periods of time taken by my CD player between tracks.

Thanks in advanced to anyone who replies to this post.

Cheers
Irf Reh

PS. let me know if i you need me to clear up anything, because i know i have waffled on a bit there.

I would ask, not in any specific order:

1. What is the source of your tracks?

2. What speed did you burn at, and have you tried slower speeds?

3. What is the model # of your burner and do you have the latest firmware?

4. What media are you using?

5. What software do you use to create the CD and are you buring in TAO or DAO mode?

6. Have you tried playing the CD on different players?

can you copy/paste and answer these...uhmm

has this ever worked correctly before?

is this a new burner and burner software?

installation and master/slave is correct?

Using correct drivers/software for xp?

Searched manufacturer site for updates/answers?

what type cds are you using? regular cd-r? try slower burn speed?

are you trying to play them back in a computer and a regular cd player?

What computer and burner do you have?

what burner software(& version)are you using?

how many cds have done this?

leaving enough room to finalize disk?

Is your windows install still pretty clean? no ad/spyware unwanted processes etc?

did it come with another IDE cable to try for the heck of it.

if it was me....i would try it in another computer. just open the side panel and plug the wires into another computer. install driver and try it. if it works then, something's up with your OS is guess. then maybe do a sys restore to previous date, or not format but reinstall windows, etc
