I am running Vista Business SP1, 2G Ram, 4 Virtual mem. I have a TSST Corp. CD/DVDW TS-H652M ATA device. The player spins for no reason. If I open a web page it starts spinning. If nothing is happening every 10-15 minutes it starts spinning. Otherwise it works well I am afraid of it burning itself out.

Are you asserting that there is some kind of virus or malware? Or some change in the registry that could have caused this?
