DVD Novie drags system down

The problem I am haveing is the DVD drive does all functions well until I attempt to play a DVD movie, the system slows way down. CPU temp goes up from 95 to 110 Deg. Any ideas?

Sorry; I guess I forgot to mension real slow.
Like End Task kind of slow and the movie doesnt play.
I changed the IDE settings from DMA to PIO, didnt help. Does it sound like a BIOS issue or master slave kind of thing or a setting? I'm running Power DVD.

Try enabling UDMA... and check for Starforce/rootkits.
