My laptop has an Hp lightscribe Super Multi 8x DVD +/-/RW drive with double layer support.

All of a sudden when I try to run a dvd movie on laptop the audio has an echo, video is fine, and cd's run fine. Do I have a driver or settings problem? Or is my drive going bad?

Any information would be appreciated, thanks

Go to the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio tab > Advanced > Performance and try tweaking the 'Hardware Acceleration slider.

Maybe this is a software issue? I tried changing settings with hardware acceleration slider and that didn't help. I have the Microsoft windows xp media center that uses quickplay for watching dvd movies. I've tried updating my drivers and updating the software version, but problem of stuttering still exists. Any other ideas out there?
Thanks
