I have a rather simple question. I intend to copy some files onto a DVD disc and then take them to a computer with only a CD drive. Will I be able to read the disc? The files I am copying are only data files, set up programs, etc. No video.

No. You'll need a DVD-ROM at minimum. Copy the files to a CD or a USB storage device.

Your DVD burner can probably also burn a CD. Maybe you can do it that way.
