DVD drives not being recugnised

June 8, 2009 at 14:10:49
Specs: Windows Vista
I would like to know how you find which application has created a virtual drive that I believe is causing a conflict on my machine, in order for me to uninstall it. As I believe it is using the same drivers as my actual dvd drives and causing them not to be seen. Can anyone help please as I cannot use my dvd drives until I resolve this issue.I have already tried uninstalling it in device mngr but it simply restarts when you restart the machine

You should know what programs you used lately. Did you use Daemon Tools or another app that creates a virtual drive to install a game or app?

I would like to say thankyou very much for your reply, but I'm happy to say that I have now resolved the issue by re-configuring the registry. I found the following link invaluable, sorry can't find the link but backing up the registry and then deleting a couple of files fixed the issue. Thanx all the same.
