My DVD does not pick up CD's or DVD's it attempts to load them (i click my comp and then D drive and it freezes.
My DVD drive is LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-16335
any help is welcome

what do u need to know? Here is what it says in properties.

may a virus(trojan) be causing this because my computer randomly shuts itself down now and gain....

Is it a new or and old drive?
Has the drive been recently installed or the IDE ribbon changed?

old drive, never had any problems with it until it stopped abt 2-3days ago. No cables have been changed or antyhing

Try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disc.
If that doesn't work, replace it.
