Hi, my dvd rewriter started to tell me the blank discs i put in were full, i bought a different drive, and the same thing happens! Can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks, Paul

this can happen if you don't have the right software for writing to blank media, of if you try to burn a disk using no software at all. What DVD Burning software are you using? i've also seen incompatibilities between the drive and the media - my buddy had a DVD burner that just couldn't use one brand of blank DVD. So what were the brands of your 2 burners? what is the brand of your blank media? is it +R, -R, +RW, -RW...?

Ive tried several different types of burning software, all of which worked until recently, the main one i use, and normally works, is Nero. I also got software with the new drives, i have tried dvd-r dvd+r, dl, rw the lot, all worked fine a couple of months ago, but now just says 0 free and 0 used. Could it be a virus do you think?

This is what I would try. Go to the Device Manager and uninstall the drive. Reboot and see if it works. If not. Go to the Device Manager and uninstall the drive. Shut down and physically disconnect the drive. Boot up. Shut down and reconnect the drive. Boot up and see if it's reinstalled and works. If it doesn't, hope for better help from someone else..
