I had a DVD drive on my computer and one day out of the blue, it wouldn't work anymore. You can put in a disk, and it will spin-up, but when you go to open the disc on the computer, it says to insert a disc. The other drive works fine, and the drive I put in the DVD drive's place works fine as well. I've reinstalled the DVD Drive and everything with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. --Myles

Discard this drive and get a new one. Those drives(dvd or cd drives)do need to be replaced after a period of time.

The drive itself wasn't really all that old though. That's what got me. The drive came with the computer (bought new) so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
