Solved Dvd drive not working

Dvd drive is behaving like it has no power. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, downloading drivers, checking the sata cable from the psu by switching it with the one on the hd. The hd still works fine but the dvd drive wont open or even with a manual eject with a paper clip will not read discs. I've tried microsoft fixit. Nothing has worked. The drive is detected in bios and windows device manager says the device is working properly.

The message in device manager means it's getting power and should work. It doesn't mean it will work. Sounds like it's shot. I would replace it.

Thanks. I thought the same thing. Computer is only 3 weeks old. To bad I voided the warranty by adding new gpu and modding the case with a fan. Oh well.
