Model/Manufacturer: dell 4600

I have a fairly new BenQ DW1625 dvd burner and all the sudden it starts acting crazy! The tray opens and closes and opens half way ..... all sorts of weirdness. It now wont burn or play anything.
Any ideas, or should I contact BenQ about returning it?

Could be a bad drive, but it could also be caused by spyware or a virus. Clear out the internet trash, run a full virus scan, & scan for spyware.
