Will the airport scanners damage my DVD CD's I plan to put them in my carry on bag.

No they won't. They claim the scanners won't even damage film, except high speed, like 600.

I ship my media and laptop and camera ahead of me by one day through Fed-Ex or UPS. I get to the place I ship them to about the same time they do. If you're traveling for business or pleasure and you're going to be at a hotel, just call the hotel and ask them to hold the package till you get there.
