DVD burner won't burn DVDs ????

A freind of mine recently got a DVD burner for his PC, however it shows up as a CD-RW drive in Windows XP and flately refuses to burn DVDs through Nero 5. I'm stumped. I believe Nero5 does not support DVD burning. You need 6 Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and his wife will never forgive you.

I would highly recommend going into device manager. At the top click show hidden devices. Then find the cd/dvd drives open them and delete all that is in there. Reboot and let windows install them again, then reboot again.
