Hi all, I am a bit stuck at the moment. I have just built a new computer with a 3000 AMD chip and 512 Mb of RAM. I have installed a new LG 4120B DVD writer and everything seems to be running fine. I used the writer to install the Op system etc and everything was OK. I then tried to burn a disk with DVD Shrink 3.2 and it has got stuck at writing the lead in only...then freezes. I have substituted the burner with another one (same model) from my friend and the same problem still exists. It reads the original DVD fine, creates a temp file, and ask's me to put in a blank DVD - once in it begins to write the lead in...and never goes any further - any suggestions??? Thanks guys Cheers - Boboman.

I'd be tempted to try another burner program.

yes, it sounds like that program isn't 100% compatible with that drive

Hi again, The pc mentioned above is one I built for my brother. I removed his new burner and installed it in my machine, again used DVD Shrink to burn a disk on my pc and it worked fine. This is why this problem has thrown me - his burner (mine is the same LG model) works in mine, and mine wont work in his...(but works fine in mine). I have also tried to burn with just Nero and that had problems too - it is the OEM version of Nero that came with the drive. As mentioned above it reads DVD's fine and creates the temp files and then dies while writing the lead in.
