Hello everybody!
Here is a nice tricky problem...
I have been sent a Region 1 DVD (from the USA)of a relative's wedding. I want to copy this to distibute it to other UK relatives, but the UK is DVD region 2.
I have a Pioneer DVR-A07 XLA DVD burner on my PC, but it says on the burner's instructions that the DVD Region Code can only be changed 5 times ever.
To bypass this, would it be possible to hook up my multi-region DVD player from under my tv (it is a Toshiba SD240e). Then I could play the wedding DVD on the Toshiba as a Region 1, but copy it as a Region 2 on the Pioneer burner for the benefit of other relatives?

Are you sure the DVD has a region code on it?
Not to question your knowledge of DVD's It's more likely that you are talking about PAL and NTSC standards then region codes. Region codes are put on commercial DVD's to discourage illegal copying. Usually you don't see this on home created DVD's
Anyway, you could run the DVD through a program called DVD shrink and remaster it. DVD Shrink will remove region codes.
But your biggest concern is going to be the difference in PAL vvs NTSC formats. If it was created in the US, it will be NTSC. You will need to rip the video from the DVD and convert it to PAL standards then burn back to DVD.
