Comment:

Does the speed at which I burn a DVD cause it to not be compatible on some players, and compatible on others? Will reducing burning speed on 8X media to 4X help compatibility

Hey sasquatch,
yea speed matters. more so toward the last half of burn, where disc are more likely to be out of true.
A good burn doesnt neccesitate speed but amount of errors produced. of course fast and no errors is desired, but most every burn will have some errors.

Best thing to do is check your firmware updates. Usually helps several problems, such as disc identification, maybe audio or video improvements, other stuff.
Also it is a good idea to get a branded disc not a discount variety.
dvd+r, booktype dvd-rom....
a newer multi disc dvd player...
half speed burn....
files should be on your fastest harddrive...
check dma from the device manager, ide>properties, if set to pio, attempt to set to dma or udma. reboot. same for your burners ide settings.
turning off other programs running in the background helps to.
