Hi all. Quick question...

I salvaged an in-good-condition Hitachi CM615 CRT, and I'm pleased with the dual monitor setup I've got going but...for some reason, the colors are all washed out on the Hitachi. Everything has a green overtone...thing. Any idea what (if anything) I can do to ease this? As usual, thanks gang. :)

P.S: Using a zd8000 laptop with a Radeon x600, if it matters.

A 15" monitor must be pretty old. Probably a good reason why it was in the discard bin to start with. About the only thing you could try is to make sure that the proper monitor is installed in the monitors section of the Catalyst software. I 15" may not even be PnP.

screen recieves a red and a blue and a green signal. if you get a green tint it usually means the red is defective. this could be because of a fault in the monitor or break in cable or bad connection in the monitor cable plug / socket.
Sometimes the colour balance can be altered by the buttons on the front of the monitor (depends on if that model of the monitor offers that option) or using colour options in the graphics card setting options.
BUT I have seen monitors where the colours are all washed out due to a fault in the monitor which needs an electronics person to attend to which is most likely uneconomic. It is more what a Television repair man would need to look at rather than a computer technician if its that type of fault.
