Hi
I have an issue with a Dell D505 laptop working with a school projector. It will not display to the projector in the normal way. I have tried numerous screen resolutions and refresh rates, to no avail - including the recommended settings for the projector. Oddly if connected through a splitter box it does work! Anyone any ideas?

Could you please clarify what you mean by not displaying in a normal way? Is it streched out, low color, etc.

Thanks for your reply.
By normal way, I mean displaying the same image on the laptop and the projector at the same time. The video out on the laptop connects to the projector and is initialised by using the Fn + a function key or Win XP display settings. The laptop has worked with the projector in the past.

So are you saying the image on the projector is different than what you see on the monitor? If that is the case, then go into the display properties, click on the settings tab. Click on the second monitor icon and take the checkmark out of where it says "Extend desktop to this monitor" or something close to that.
