Hi,
i'm gettting a new system soon along with along with a 'MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard' and i'm thinking of getting either the:-> Corsair 1GB DDR Value Select PC3200 CAS3.0 Kit (2x512MB) Now i'm assuming this isn't dual channel unless it is and it just doesn't say it?
My other choice of Memory is the:->Crucial 1GB DDR PC3200 CAS3.0 Dual Channel Kit (2x512MB)
Now this is dual channel as it says, but my question is i have a 512Mb stick of RAM already which i want to put in my new system along with either of the above, which type would it be better going with the crucial or the corsair(that is if it can actual go with the dual channel corsair)? Thanks for any help in advance

There is no such thing as dual channel ram. The motherboard is the thing that supports dual channel processing. Any two identical sticks of ram of suitable specification will function in dual channel mode. The "Dual Channel" kits are marketed that way only as a means of certifying the two sticks in the pack are identical. Either of the corsair or crucial kits will work in dual channel mode as long as the motherboard and processor support it.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Do not mix types of ram, it will lead to problems.
Do not expect to buy a gig of ram in dual channel and then add your extra 512 and keep dual channel. Dual channel only works if two or four banks are occupied, not 3.

Just to add...get RAM with CAS 2.5, not 3.0...it shouldn't cost much more, if it all, & it'll be a tad quicker.
