Hi,
I've got a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 (Rev 2.x)board and have just purchased a second DDR DIMM so I can take advantage of the dual channel memory function. My question is... Do I have to change anything in CMOS setup or will the board detect it automatically?

Many thanks!

No changes necessary in the BIOS. You do need to place the modules in the correct slots. Refer to the manual. If working the POST screens will indicate so at startup.
