Hello, I was wondering, if my motherboard has 4 slots of ram, and supports dual channel, can i get 2x256mb dual channel memory and 1x256mb single channel?

No, by specs the dual channel ram can stand alone but the single channel ram must be installed with an identical stick in the same bank or an adjacent bank (depending upon the design of your mother board).
