I have a P4 Titan Ga-8IG1000MK mobo. I know that in order to have dual channel, the ram modules have to be of the same size. My question is, if I buy 2 sticks of the same brand and size now (512), do I have to get the exact same type of ram, or can I get another pair of sticks of a different brand and/or size?

You manual should cover that question. I THINK that with Intel MBs you CAN run different capacity RAM in two pairs. The RAM needs to be the same clock speed. Wait for further replies before acting.

To run Dual Channel, you do need modules of the same capacity. (512 MB, 1GB, etc.)

But, typically, the pairs don't have to be the same cpacity.

You could run:
- 2 x 256
- 2 x 512

But, I believe they need to be the same speed modules.
