Comment:

My computer is only able to connect for DSL via a USB Port, hence, I have an adapter attached which the cat5 plugs into and the other end plugs into my USB Port on my computer.

I am constantly getting knocked offline at random times (sometimes 1 minute, sometimes 4 hours).

The only way to get back online is to either restart the machine, or take out the USB Port plug and plug it back in.

Any ideas how to stop this??? USB configurations, settings???

Ever thought about putting in a $10 NIC in? That would be what I would try.

Have a great day

Is this a notebook PC?
Curious as to why you can't put in a NIC and get a router and use Ethernet.

Apparently the machines, which were bought at some special sale, will not support the NIC. I will verify this though. Assuming I am correct in that we can't use a NIC, do you have any suggestions on how to fix the problem via correcting it w/in the USB port???
