A friend is having a problem with his DSL modems. I say modems because he's on his 3rd. Every time he gets a new one from Bell sympatico, it won't work.? I've tested the outlet,it's working fine. Plugged it into other outlets but when we turns on the modem, the lites come on then go out every time. He's now got the latest one but still can't get it to work. any suggestions would be great.? thanks, Maxx

Normally when you power up the modem goes into self test and the all the lites turn on and may blink. With no connections only the power lite is on. There is another lite if there is signal from your ISP. The third lite is for the connection from your router or computer.
