How can you tell if your DSL Modem (orADSL Router) is going bad? I have many disconnects and have to reset it nany times just to get link lights to light up together. My provider says everything is cool, but I wonder. I got this from them. At times I can be on only mins. Thanks for all your help. I can connect with my Dial up with no problems.

Try this...
Go to control panel network connections right click go to properties at the top where your nic card is click the configure tab
now look for the power management (I think it is called) and untick the box that says let this device be turned off to save power. .
I am not sure of the exact tab because I turned mine off when I had similar problem...anyways you will find it there

What make/model is your router? I have the US Robotics 9003, and had to upgrade the firmware with newer versions because I had a lot of disconnects or non connects.
Now its fine and I haven't needed to reboot the router in ages!
