no more then usual if you weren't running dsl. things like network card drivers and networking componets like tcp/ip all take up resources. so does IE when you run it but what good would dsl be if you didn't use it. Dsl by itself uses no local resources.

Any running program affects `System Resources'. DSL itself does not.
Be aware that System Resources do not affect the performance of the system until they drop to zero. Then the system may become unstable.
