Specs: Windows 7, AMD Athlon, 3Gb

My recently dropped my laptop, it's an acer aspire 5532 I start it up the fan comes on for a few seconds then turns off the lights come on and cd drive and HDD spin up, but nothing shows up on the screen. There are no beeps also. I believe it is the motherboard but I want to make sure, could it be the CPU. I have no way of replacing it with a working part as most of my spare parts are for desktops.

Doesn't sound good....a dead laptop monitor alone is usually too expensive to repair. It is impossible to tell exactly based on what you have said, but laptops do not take abuse well at all. If the monitor is toast or the motherboard it is usually nearly as cheap to buy a new unit. Sorry. CPU's are pretty durable, but the board and screen are not.
