I dropped my external 1tb on the floor. The hard drive was off when it was dropped. My problem is that most of the files i have on it have missing parts to them so if i play a movie it pauses and stops at random times. Is there any way of my fixing this without spending any money? The drive in question ---http://www.acomdata.com/pureDrive_firewire.asp

Nope, it's damaged permanently. Grab the files off of it before the drive completely quits.

Copy the files off of it that you can, Zero fill the drive a few times and low-level it. If there are still bad spots, then not much you can do. Be more careful.
