drivers won't install onboard lan

Hi, I have an Asus A7V8X motherboard that has worked for some time properly. Recently the onboard lan, raid, and audio no longer work. I re-installed windows xp, not for this reason, and the items are detected in windows device manager but I am unable to install the drivers for all three. I downloaded the drivers from asus website and when installing I get an error 10 "can't start item" or something like that. Please Help.

Reboot and go into safemode, remove anything and everything related to the devices in question as well as other "flagged" devices.
Reboot normally and try the drive install again.

Thanks for the reply, I already tried that, and the same thing happens, next reboot, windows detects new hardware(onboard ethernet, raid,& audio)asks to install drivers, then "error 10" when installing driver. I am sure i have the right drivers and the board used to work fine, raid, lan, and sound. Any other suggestions??

have you checked the bios settings and made sure these builtin devices are enabled? Just for giggles you might clear the bios and see if that doesn't get them working again. Maybe a power hit put the bios on its ear.
