I'm looking for an adapter that should install without the need to install drivers from a CD or download them so that I can easily work on computers on a workbench without the need to buy a wireless bridge or cut and run cable. Is there anything new that can do this or would I have to look into something used?

All of which are considerably more expensive than a wireless USB adapter alone.

Cost is your problem, do not shoot the messenger, all USB devices need drivers.

I agree with ITGuru.

Here in the UK, such devices cost around £6 or perhaps less.

Would it be that much of a problem to temporarily install its driver?

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

It's a nuissance to do benchwork. I guess I'll invest in a wireless bridge on eBay. May be my best bet. Thanks.
