Driver issue with XP formatted Gateway ML6232

Specs: Windows XP

I've recently reformmated my Gateway laptop (ML6232) to XP but cannot for the life of me find the proper sound and video drivers for it.

Gateway's website has a handful of misc drivers for XP, but not the ones I need.

Is there any "generic" sound drivers I could be using? This computer is primarily just a machine to surf around the web with, so I'm more concerned over having the proper sound drivers than video.

Please help.

The Gateway site doesn't list which sound chip was used, so you're gonna have to do some research. That's what happens when you don't plan ahead.

If you look at the motherboard specs, the southbridge chipset is the IntelĀ® 82801GBM (aka ICH7-M). If you install the chipset driver, it *should* include the audio driver:
