Driver for Win 7

January 5, 2010 at 12:08:17
Specs: Windows 7

Attempting to upgrade from XP Pro to Win 7 Home Premium, "Adviser: strongly recommends download Ethernet Card to Win7 driver, the mini disc included from PC Plus is from CNET, hence the drivers for XP.

On both companies I am unable to find drivers for Win 7, could they not have an updated drivers for Win7?

Thanking you well in advance,

Best wishes,

NLM

It would help if you listed your system specs. Make and model of the puter.

Are you doing an actual in-place upgrade or are you doing a clean install?

If no Win7 drivers are available, try the Vista drivers.

Currently IC (not PC, sorry my error) Plus Ethernet Card 10/100 now on XP Pro driver, from the enclosed CNET.com mini-disc.

I have Win7 Home Premium Upgrade, and from just watching this start out (and stopping it because of the driver issue) the installation data indicated it will remove XP Pro completely, and then install Win7, for what's its worth. To me, sounds like a clean install (all other HD will be formatted accordingly).

Intel 2.66 Dual, with MSI Motherboard, 4GB RAM, nVidia 9500 GT, 2 SATA HD totalling 750GB. Entire unit was custom, so no model number to be had.

Only trying to search for the driver, did not elevate to any helpdesk yet.

Thank you for kind help thus far.

Did you check the MSI site for a driver for your particular Mobo. Like Jam said, you can probably use the Vista driver if there is one.
