I've tried there but it just points to microsoft and microsoft tells me go to my manufacturers website to find the driver which is seagate. I've also tried browsing through google but no luck.

Thing is I'm trying to put the driver into the windows installation package and copy this image onto a CD so that i can format and install windows XP on my SATA hard drive.

You don't need a driver for the hard drive. You need a driver for the SATA controller on the motherboard. You get that from the motherboard website or if a custom built PC from the motherboard CD.

Do you have SATA ports on the motherboard to connect a SATA hard drive to your motherboard? What is the model of your motherboard?

If you don't know the model then download SIW to learn it. Get SIW at the link below.

Thanks. I managed to find my motherboard's model its:

ASUS P5GC - MX

I've gone onto the ASUS website but I cant find any drivers there related to sata controller, just lan drivers.

I wish to download these drivers so that i can then use nlite to make an image of windows XP with these sata controllers and install it in my hard drive.

Do you know if XP service pack 3 has these sata drivers already installed in it?

Thanks!

The link below takes you to the download page for your board. The two files below are the chipset driver package. The SATA drivers will be included in there.
