Drive wont read second cd in a sequ

My uncle is having a problem with his CD rom drives. When attempting to install a program that includes more than one cd the drive will not continue after the first disk. It just doesn't seem to recognize anymore than one cd. Thanks for any suggestions!

Either the disk is bad or the CD-Rom is failing. Does he have the same problem with all multi-disk programs or just one he is trying to install now? If it is telling him to install the second CD and then doesn't read it, it should give an error. If it just doesn't read it it most likely is the CD-ROM.

Did you try both drives with this program? Did you try putting the second CD in a different drive than the first (this one actually worked for me once)? Otherwise, it would be as lefty2053 said.

Prepare to buy a new CDROM drive. This one is headin' south.......
You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

Thank you all so much for your input! This problem has occured with multiple programs and he did try putting the second disk in a second drive. Unfortunately that worked but there was a third disk. :) No error message was given. Again Thanks!
