I had a few computers kicking around in the closet, and I'm trying to get at least 1 to work for my little sister. So I took a Packard Bell which originally had 8MB of RAM and a 75MHZ processor and a 1GB hard drive, and added:
100MHZ Processor 32MB Ram (changed all chips) 1.6GB Hard Drive 24X CD ROM
When I start up the system now, it says "Incorrect Drive A, Please Enter Setup" but in setup, it is the correct A drive type. I tried 3 different drives and nothing works =(

Summary: A few points. Watch the POST screens at startup for your drives. They should be properly identified by model. What capacity is the harddrive in question and what service packs are running in WinXP...
Summary: this problem is obvious. change the jumper settings either on the hard drive you just added, or the cd-rw drive. look at the manual..it tells you the settings and such. i would change the settings on ...
