Drive identification

Specs: Windows 7, pent quad/ 4 Gigs
One of my desk top systems crashed at home. I needed some files off this drive so I attempted to use a component called "magic bridge II" to perform a file transfer to a second system I had available.
The prob. I'm having is when I connect the drive to the Magic bridge device then plug the USB in the second system, it brings the drive up in "printers & devices" instead of giving the drive a letter and displaying it in My Computer.

The desk top drive is a 500GB Samsung HD502IJ that was running Windows Home Vista before it crashed. The second system is running Windows 7 pro.

I really need the drive not to show up as a device, but to be assigned a drive letter so that I can access the files I need.

What am missing??

Check in disk management.
I think it's best to connect the 500gb hard drive into win 7 pro system direct.
