Hi when I go to Device Manager and check my ports I have Communications Port (COM1) and the Printer Port but I'm missing Commuciations Port (COM2).

It might be that COM 2 is not enabled in the BIOS. What COM port is your modem using ?
If you have a lot of other devices in your computer that have used up all the IRQs, then disabling one or both COM ports in the BIOS is a way of freeing up one or both of the IRQs that were being assigned.
I always disable my serial ports, because I don't use anything with a serial connection, and then I have 2 extra IRQs for other devices. And the modem will assign itself to a virtual COm 3 port, no worries !
Have you physically looked at back of PC as quite a few modern MoBo's have only one COMMs port installed, instead relying on a proliferation of USB and FireWire to attach external peripherals......
If you are looking for the Modem comms port then check in Control Panel under Modems....
