I have a usb printer, a wireless laptop, and a new linksys print server I need to install. Is this enough? Or do I have to have a router for setup of the print server

You don't need a router, but you do need a network - otherwise what's the point of a print server?
I guess you *might* be able to do an ad-hoc network between the print server and the laptop. Is it a wireless print server?
