Does my HP laptop need new battery?

October 23, 2010 at 22:39:10
Specs: windows XP home, 4 gigs

every time I use my battery on my hp dv8000 it shuts off. when I take the battery out and run it on the power cord it runs fine. even with the power cord plugged in and the battery plugged in the laptop still shuts off. I'm pretty sure it's the battery but I wanted your opinion before I go and buy a replacement.

I would replace the battery. You should google to see whether that Laptop has a recall on the battery, doesn't matter how old it is.

Check ebay for the best prices on a new battery.
