Hiya im just a basic computer user having some startup problems on my PC, I plan on purchasing a 2digit debug/POST Card to help solve my problem, anyways will any PCI POST Card work on any motherboard that atleast has a PCI slot? or will it only work with a specific bios because my motherboard is a gigabyte that has an award bios.
What do you think a POST card is going to do for you? Does your board beep at startup? If it does, there's your POST codes. Anything more than a single beep indicates a problem. All you have to do is look it up. Don't waste your money on the card.
I agree with riider. While you may get some information from the card you may get even more directly from the board itself. It depends on how old the board is.
When you say start up problems are you even sure they are related to the hardware? Do you have quick boot disabled so you even see the POST screens. If they are hidden behind a logo you should be able to disable logos in the BIOS screens.
