Do I need windows on both my harddrives?

November 23, 2010 at 17:54:37
Specs: Windows XP
I just added a second harddrive to my computer which I have taken from my folks old computer. Obviously there is a lot of extra stuff on there that I just want to wipe off. Do I need to keep a copy of windows on there or anything? Or will it be fine to just completely wipe it?

You do not need a second copy of Windows on a secondary drive. If present it would be useless.

Wipe away! No, you don't need Windows on it. Just make sure you save any data on it you might want, copy it to your primary drive.

Awesome. I thought as much, but it is nice to be sure.
Thank you!

Actually the window on the 2nd hd probably wont work (boot) anyway unless both computers are very similar.

It would be a good place for a backup of c: though.
