I use Power DVD for my DVD Rom, but since playing a VCD, the DMA will not work! I keep changing the settings and rebooting, but it still won't accept the DMA settings, so my DVD playback is jerky. I have tried everything. I didn't change anything in the BIOS or installed any new software. In the device manager settings, it accepts that I am using DMA (IDE controllers), yet it still doesn't work. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanx.

What chipset do you have?

What CPU also (not that that matters that much).

If you have the VIA chi[set, you need to install the via4in1 drivers (www.viatec.com).

They controll the IDE busmaster, which inturn is relative to DMA.
